*Rare Signed Laphroaig Distillery Print by Legendary Manager John Campbell**£85 including UK delivery*
For sale is a high-quality, authentic print of the iconic Laphroaig Distillery on Islay, *personally hand-signed* by *John Campbell*.
John Campbell’s story is a true whisky industry “rags-to-respect” tale. A native of Islay (an Ileach), he worked as a lobster fisherman for around seven years before joining Laphroaig in 1994. He started at the very bottom — painting numbers on casks — and learned every single job at the distillery over the following decades. In 2006 he was appointed *Distillery Manager, becoming the **first Islay native in the distillery’s nearly 200-year history* to hold the position. He went on to serve as manager for over 15 years (part of a total 27 years at Laphroaig), making him the longest-serving manager in the distillery’s modern era.
John is widely regarded as one of the most respected and knowledgeable distillery managers of the past few decades. He left Laphroaig in 2021 and now works in California as *COO and Master Distiller* at Sespe Creek Distillery.
*These signed prints will almost certainly never be made again.* With John Campbell no longer at Laphroaig, new signed editions are simply not possible.
*Provenance*These prints were specially created for a delegation of Japanese whisky specialists visiting Islay. They were intended as gifts for an event at a local pub, but severe bad weather meant the event never took place. The prints were never distributed and have been carefully stored for approximately 10 years. I am selling them on behalf of the former landlord of that Islay pub.
