This is a string-bound portfolio of photographs ofRegina, Saskatchewan, Canada from about 1898. The photographshave a beautiful sepia tone and lots of detail. Each has a caption beneath. Most notable are the two foldout panoramic images of Regina and of the RNWMP Barracks (Royal North-West Mounted Police).
There are 14 pages, each with a photograph mounted to the page by the corners.The page measures9 x 7inches (23 x18 cm). The full-page photos measure approximately 5.5 x 4inches (14 x 10 cm).
There is also two 12\" (30.5 cm)wide folded panoramics
Produced by the Albertype Company as a set of mechanical photogravure prints. It is undated, but based on similar books in my collection and some of the pictures, it appears to be circa 1906. One of the panoramics iscaptioned for theRNWMP. The North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) received the \"Royal\" prefix in June 1904 from King Edward VII, which makes this post-1904. The camp was active until 1920.
