This is a beautiful late-1940s Waterman Taperite Stateleigh with the unusual 5-lines variation cap.Released to compete with the hooded pens of the era, the Taperite line offers the sleek, aerodynamic look of a semi-hooded design while preserving the iconic ink flow and slightly softer writing feel that Waterman is famous for.This pen has been completely disassembled, cleaned, and professionally restored with a fresh, high-quality latex ink sac. The lever fill operates perfectly and easily draws a full load of ink. The 14K Taperite semi-hooded nib has a fantastic softness that is not flex but makes the pen a joy to write with.
This pen is in excellent restored vintage condition. The resin barrel is shiny with clear imprints and only light micro-scratching from gentle use over the decades. The gold-filled cap retains a brilliant, deep luster. There are no cracks, personalization/engravings, or major structural flaws.
