Vintage 1929 Rookwood Pottery art pottery bowl, shape #6089, in a beautiful lavender/lilac-purple matte glaze.
This elegant small bowl features a distinctive elongated oval form with softly fluted sides and a scalloped rim. The unusual lavender-purple glaze shows subtle tonal variation from soft lilac and mauve to deeper purple depending on the lighting.
Lavender and purple examples appear much less frequently on the secondary market than many of Rookwood’s more commonly encountered glaze colors, making this an especially attractive piece for a Rookwood or American art pottery collection.
The underside is impressed with the classic Rookwood RP flame mark, XXIX, dating the piece to 1929, and shape number 6089.
Measurements: approximately 5.25” long × 3.5” wide × 2.25” high.
Condition: Very good vintage condition, especially considering its nearly 100-year age. No chips or cracks observed. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the condition description.
Made in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
