Up for sale is an authentic 1970 US first pressing of the classic album First Step by Faces, uniquely credited on this initial North American jacket as "Small Faces" (Warner Bros. Records, WS 1851). This copy is a genuine Columbia Records production run, physically pressed at the legendary Terre Haute, Indiana plant. The authenticity of this launch-day copy is fully verified by the complete etched dead-wax matrix runout codes: 39662 WS1851 A-1B 5x on Side One and 39663 WS1851 B-1E C T 1 on Side Two. It features the iconic, deep olive-green Warner Bros. center labels characteristic of this early era, making it an essential centerpiece for any serious classic rock collector.
The condition of this vintage package is exceptional and strictly graded using Goldmine standards. The vinyl grades at a strong Very Good Plus (VG+) due to minor cosmetic scuffs and surface markings that do not affect audio playback. The original gatefold jacket is in Excellent (EX / VG+) shape, showing standard light vintage ring wear but completely free of any seam splits, writing, or corner blowouts. The original yellowed inner paper sleeve is included but carries a typical seam split from age.
