DescriptionA fabulousearly-dated Englishantique18th CenturyGeorgiansolid sterling silver two-handled loving/drinking cup by the silversmith John King (1758 - 1789) in excellent clean conditionand with English silver hallmarks for London 1772.Superbquality and a genuine 254 years old;a stunning shape resting on a circular pedestal base with reeded scrolled silver handles and is decorated with fluting and flowers/foliage.Measures approx 5.3 inches (133mm) wide (including handles) x 3.1 inches (79mm) and is 3.45 inches (86mm) in height.Weighs a heavy approx 167 gramsand is further decorated with a fine historicset of engraved marriage initials and has a lightly engraved year date 1773.A stunning early silver example.

Good clear readable silver marks and the silversmiths initials are \"I.K\" (John King - 1758 - 1789).No silver duty stamp as made before the silver duty act of 1784.
ConditionExcellent clean condition with no splits or wear holes/leaks and no knocks or dents,a superb undamaged early-datedgenuine antiqueexample, looks only very little used. A really stunningusableEnglish 18th Century silver drinking cup and with a lovelyheavy silver weight. Has not been cleaned, as it came to me, from a private estate clearance.
