This is a vintage Syroco sunburst wall clock in the mid-century modern style, measuring twenty-nine and a half inches from point to point. Syroco, short for the Syracuse Ornamental Company, produced these starburst designs widely through the mid-twentieth century using a moulded wood-and-resin composite rather than solid carved wood, which is how they achieved such long, slender spiked rays without the fragility real wood would carry at that length. This particular piece has been in the family since the 1970s and was, until recently, in full working order. It simply stopped running with no known cause, and no repair has been attempted. The clock face, numerals, hands, and resin sunburst housing are all intact and in good cosmetic condition, as shown in the photos. Given that it was functioning shortly before this listing, the issue may be something straightforward like the battery or movement, but this has not been diagnosed, and buyers should be prepared to source a replacement quartz movement or seek repair themselves. Selling as parts or repair, as is, with no guarantee of function.
