Sabal tamaulipensis is a rare and little-known species of Sabal native to northeastern Mexico, particularly the state of Tamaulipas. This palm is closely related to Sabal mexicana and Sabal minor but is distinct for its vigorous growth and ability to eventually develop a tall trunk.In habitat it grows in river valleys and lowland forests, where it becomes a large and impressive palm with strong fan leaves and a robust structure.
