Nonesuch Press, published in 1932 in an edition of 800. "Butleriana" was a gathering of autobiographical selections from the notebooks of Samuel Butler (1835-1902) the novelist of Erewhon and a man who fought hard on the wrong side of Darwinian evolution. There are eight photographs as frontispieces for each section of the book. This copy is in excellent condition internally with rubbing to the (Cockerell?) paper-covered sides, especially the top corner (see first scan). Cloth spine is darkened
