Shelley's Complete Poetical Works, Cambridge Edition, 1901 is a valuable collectible for poetry enthusiasts. This original leather-bound edition published by Houghton, Mifflin & Company features Shelley's works in English. The top pages are gold edged, and there are 649 pages in this book. It is in pretty fabulous condition for its age, minus a small area where it was “scrunched” causing the edges to be slightly bent and a small bit of tearing. The binding is strong, the pages are without tears, dog ears, or written on (minus the previously mentioned). There is a lovely note from a mother to son on Christmas 1909 that is particularly heartwarming, written at the front of the book.
The red leather is vibrant and lovely with minimal wear on the edges, given the age. It would be a lovely addition to anyone’s collection, whatever their taste in poetry is.
