Interesting vintage pair of EuropeanEL84 / 6BQ5 power output tubes, consisting of:
- 1 × Siemens EL84
- 1 × Telefunken EL84
Although carrying different brand names, both tubes show thesame factory production origin and essentially identical internal construction.
Etched Production Codes
Siemens EL84:

Telefunken EL84:
rX3 / =2
The matchingrX3construction codes together with the same factory marking identify these as tubes from thesame production source, making this an interesting example of European OEM/rebranding practice.
The construction is visibly very similar between the two tubes.

Both tubes were tested at:

- Ug1 / Grid voltage:-7.3 V

Both tubes therefore retainvery strong and identical transconductance, although their plate-current readings differ.
