RT Habu, one of the elite covert Recon Teams under the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG), operating out of Da Nang (Command and Control North). These highly classified joint special operations teams consisted of U.S. Army 5th Special Forces Group personnel and indigenous fighters who conducted high-risk, deep-cover operations across the DMZ and behind enemy lines. The team was named after the venomous Asian habu pit viper.
