Lot No. SC14601 / 13oz. BLACK DENIM JACKET 1953 MODELThis 1953 model denim jacket represents a transitional period when denim jackets transitioned from workwear to casual wear. Commonly known as the \"2nd\" model, this iconic piece from the 1950s is crafted from black denim.
Unlike some vintage pieces that are \"dyed black due to dirt,\" and unlike black denim with white weft threads, this is original black denim with both warp and weft threads being black. It\'s a 13-ounce selvedge denim woven with 7-count slub yarn, and features a white and red selvedge. The black dye uses sulfur dyes, resulting in a deep, rich fade with wear.Great light weight denim jacket.
