Material Silk Organza, cotton, voile, velvet, corduroy, jacquard, linen, denim, chambray. Almost anything will work for this dress, it all depends on what look you are after. A dressy translucent fabric as an overlay over the slip as shown, or a solid fabric so no need for the slip. This is a girly dress for sure. Make it your own.
