The Intruder Blu-ray - 1962, Brand New Sealed
This features a nice high definition presentation of this underrated classic film with it's original film grain and 1.85 aspect ratio.I suspect that because this film is in the public domain it hasn't received as much recognition as it probably should have. There's some really powerful stuff here and this is possibly Roger Corman's best film. The IMDB user rating for The Intruder is an impressive 7.5, putting it on par with classics like The Man Who Came to Dinner and Lilies of the Field. Note that the title in this print is shown as "I Hate Your Guts".
The Movie
Directed by Roger Corman and starring William Shatner, 1962's The Intruder (also released as I Hate Your Guts) is a bold and provocative drama that tackles the explosive issue of racial integration in the American South.
Set against the backdrop of a small town grappling with desegregation, the film follows a charismatic outsider who incites fear and hatred among the townspeople.
Raw, uncompromising, and ahead of its time, The Intruder delivers a powerful message about prejudice, manipulation, and the fight for justice. A daring film experience, it challenges audiences to confront uncomfortable truths and stands as one of Corman's most socially significant works.
