Treasure Island N.C. Wyeth Scribner Illustrated MCMXI Project Copy 13/14 Plates For Sale

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, illustrated by N.C. Wyeth and published by Charles Scribner’s Sons. The title page is dated MCMXI (1911), but the copyright page is missing, so I cannot independently verify the edition/printing.Poor condition. This is a heavily worn restoration/project copy. Map is present with a small tear. 13 of 14 color plates are present; the plate on p. 244 is missing. Front pictorial endpaper is present; rear endpaper is missing. Front endpapers and title page appear to have been glued/repaired at some point and do not lay flat normally. Page 3 is fully detached but present. Pages have tears throughout, including pp. 47, 87, 179, 181 and illustrated pages/plates at pp. 138, 178 and 268. Light pencil marks and tanning/light foxing throughout. Front hinge almost completely detached (attached at top); rear hinge cracked with endpapers loose at bottom. Spine completely missing. Both covers have significant wear, fraying, chips and scuffs; front cover artwork has chips/scuffs and corners are heavily bumped/fraying. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
