USS St. Louis, a Brooklyn Class 608\' light cruiser, built in Newport News, VA that was commissioned on May 19, 1939. She escaped in the Dec 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, She is seen in this photo at Mare Island on Nov 18, 1942 being repaired.
