This is an original, old colored copper engraving by Ulm, published by Matthäus Seutter in 1740.

  • Remarks: A very rare and aElaborately designed city map with an additional large overall view of the city. The old colored copper engraving shows in the upper area a detailed plan of Ulm with its fortifications and important buildings, a compass rose, a legend and a short history of the city. The lower third of the engraving shows a large city panorama, in which the Buildings are also named. This is done by e.gwhite coat of arms added. Latin and German title.


English description: 

A rare and very decorative combination of a plan and a panoramic view of the city of Ulm. The engraving shows a detailed plan of the city with it\'s fortifications in the upper part and a panoramic view in the lower part of the page. The view is enriched by a short text about the history of Ulm, a key that names the most important buildings and two coats of arms. Latin and German text. The engraving was published by Matthäus Seutter in 1740. It measures 49 x 57 cm (plate size) and is in good condition. There is some very light browning due to age. A faded stamp mark is hardly visible at the lower right corner.
