WRECK-Wreckwas an indie and industrial rock band formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1988before moving its base to Chicago, Illinois. The band was active from 1988 until 1994. The band formed inMilwaukee, Wisconsin in 1988, and later based in Chicago. After releasing threealbums the band split up in the mid-1990s, with singer/guitarist DeanSchlabowske going on to found The Waco Brothers.

The band was formed in Milwaukee in 1988, and comprised DeanSchlabowske (later of The Waco Brothers) on electric guitar and vocals, BartFlores on drums, and Keith Brammer (from Die Kreuzen and Boy Dirt Car) on bassguitar.

The band\'s first release was a self-titled EPon the Play It Again Sam label in 1989, in association with Wax Trax!, with Steve Albini producing. The Milwaukee Journal\'s Thor Christensen described the EP: \"Guitars sound likedrums, drums sound like machine guns, and vocalist Schlabowske sounds like he\'sjust swallowed napalm\". Debut album Soul Train followed in 1990, also produced by Albini, anddescribed by Allmusic as \"abstract, difficult songs...the work of a bandthat had no desire to compromise its creative vision\". The band releasedanother six songs on the House of Boris 12” EP in 1991, by which time Kurt Moore (TheWon\'t, Primasonic) had joined on bass guitar.

VEXED- Vexed was a Seattle band formed in \'84 from the ashesof Death of Marat, and The Drills; the founding members were Milton Garrison(guitar) and Alfred Butler (bass). They played an unique style - a mix betweenpost punk, funk, art and death rock; nothing whatsoever to do with the sludgy, grungy sounds of the Northwest. The band made its debut in \'85 with the song\"Six Foot Hole\" on the \"Pyrrhic Victory: A Goal Attained At TooGreat a Cost\" compilation cassette along with Soundgarden, Skin Yard, 10Minute Warning, response, Mental Mannequin, The Fags, Colour Twigs, The Probesand The Horrible Truth. Next, the band appeared on the \"Bands That WillMake Money\" compilation in \'86, and they were featured on two morecompilations before releasing their own material: \"Lowlife\" compilationin 1987, and \"Secretions\" in 1988. Finally the band’s firstnon-compilation debut was \"Maybe\" 7\'\' EP in \'88. The EP waseventually included on CD version of \"The Good Fight\" LP, released in1990. In 1990 the band also made contribution to the famous C/Z compilation\"Teriyaki Asthma\" with the song GWYM (Go West Young Man) on vol.4.The band broke up and reformed in 1992 withAlcohol Funnycar drummer Buzz Crocker. In \'94 they released an eight-song LP onC/Z records called \"Cathexis\"

Engine Kid was formed in Seattle, WA in the early 1990s by bassist Art Behrman, drummer Chris Vandebrooke, and guitarist/vocalist Greg Anderson. The groupinitially sought to imitate the sound of Slint but this relationship wouldprogressively shift from pure imitation to loose influence as the band began toexperiment with jazz and nascent post-rock sounds in their later material.Behrman departed the band after the recording of their first 7\" and wasreplaced by Brian Kraft, and around year later Vandebrooke would also laterleave, being replaced by Jade Devitt on all subsequent releases. In their initial run, Engine Kid released two albums, three singles/EPs, aswell as numerous appearances on split singles and compilations beforedisbanding in 1997. in 2020 the group\'s longest-running lineup of Anderson,Devitt and Kraft reformed and signed to Southern Lord.
