Wonderful and unusual vintage complete weekday dish towel embroidery and applique set, made with linen towels labeled “Made in Czechoslovakia.”
This set appears to have been purchased as a needlework project and then tucked away without ever being completed. It includes seven striped linen towels—one for each day of the week—along with the original applique fabric pieces and vintage instruction sheets showing how each towel was to be finished.
The designs combine applique and hand embroidery to create charming day-of-the-week towels. The original instructions specify different colored applique fabrics and embroidery for the individual days and recommend Nun’s Boilproof embroidery cottons.
The towels retain their small original “Made in Czechoslovakia” paper labels, a wonderful detail that helps document their origin.
