Vintage Italian maiolica decanter attributed to Ardalt Urbino, featuring a finely hand-painted Cupid (putto) scene within a pastoral landscape.
The form is tall and elegant, with a long tapering neck and original fitted stopper. The body is decorated with a central figural panel of Cupid seated in a natural setting, with additional landscape scenes continuing around the form. The painting shows good detail and control, especially in the face and shading, with a softer, more traditional execution than typical mass-market pieces.
