Ride into the show ring in true competition style with this Borso d’Este dressage shadbelly, a formal equestrian coat crafted in Italy for the highest levels of the sport. This is a navy wool shadbelly with a fitted, tailored body, double-breasted brass-tone button front, velvet peaked lapels with gold cord trim, and the classic cutaway front with canary yellow points peeking out beneath. The long tails are lined in leather for weight and structure, a hallmark of quality dressage coats, with a satin body lining.
The tag reads size 46 but the chest measures around 37-38” (19” flat), with a shell of 92% wool, 6% polyamide, and 2% elastane, and a body lining of 70% acetate and 30% Elitex.
Measured flat, the coat runs approximately 39 inches from the collar to the base of the tails, with a sleeve length of approximately 26 inches from shoulder to cuff.
Condition: this is a well-loved vintage shadbelly with honest signs of wear. Two of the original front buttons are missing (one extra matching button of that same style is included loose for repair), and the leather lining on the tails shows cracking and surface wear consistent with age and use.
