Up for sale is an authentic vintage octagonal Soviet-era (circa 1970s–1980s) Palekh Russian lacquer trinket box. It features a detailed, hand-painted scene depicting the classic Russian fairy tale \"The Humpbacked Horse\" Details & Features:
​Origin & Style: Traditional Palekh village miniature artwork painted in egg tempera on a black papier-mâché base with fine gold leaf accent borders.
​Inscriptions: Hand-signed in gold on both the front image and bottom base as \"Палех\" (Palekh), \"Конёк-Горбунок\" (The Humpbacked Horse), and \"Исп. Рудникова С.\" (Executed by artist S. Rudnikova).
​Shape & Interior: Distinctive octagonal shape with a rich, glossy bright red lacquer interior.
​Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The interior is very clean, and the rear metal hinge functions smoothly and holds firm. The exterior shows minor, age-appropriate surface scuffs/cracks to the clear gloss topcoat under bright light, but has no major chips, or lacquer loss.
