Here\'s a lovely Variscite cabochon from the Little Green Monster Mine, Clay Canyon, Oquirrh Mountains, Utah. Variscite nodules from this location are very unique, they\'ve undergone significant alteration and many different phosphate minerals have been created in the process. The yellow is Crandallite and the blueish gray orbs are Wardite. Sometimes there are other phosphate minerals in the small pockets in the stone. Geologically the variscite from this deposit is the most unique in the entire world, there isn\'t any other deposit that compares to this one for diversity of phosphate minerals and diversity of colors and patterns, It\'s simply amazing.
I think this stone would make an incredible statement piece for a bolo tie.
There is a small amount of backing on one side where the slab was uneven.
