First and foremost, I know absolutely nothing about art. I just wanted to be forthright, so please let that be stated, and known.
With that said, I\'ve spent some time over the last few days sending pictures of the above to a few different organizations, wondering how to price this piece, and trying to get an idea of its value.
I inherited this painting several years ago, and frankly, knowing that it wasn\'t an original Van Gogh, and again, knowing nothing about art, it\'s just been sitting in my office.
Recently, I was speaking with a friend about reproductions, and wanted to take a closer look at mine.
From what I can tell, it appears to be a good quality reproduction. Meaning, it\'s painted on canvas, with oil paint, and shows some interesting texture(s) throughout. It\'s clearly quite old, but I have no idea who painted it, and/or when.
The frame is what caught my eye. Many of the high-end reproductions I\'ve seen online appear to have similar frames. This one is healthy, and well built.
Also, the size of the painting...it measures 17\" x 23\". While the frame itself, measures 23\" x 29\".
Regarding the pictures above, please note that in pics #5 through #13 (nine pictures) I did my best to take close-ups of the painting\'s surface in order to depict detail, brush strokes, layers, imperfections, etc. But, if you have any questions, whatsoever, please feel free to ask.
Again, I know absolutely zilch about paintings, reproductions...heck, art work, in general. So, any information you have regarding my listing that you\'d like to share, please do so!
