Vintage late-1960s/early-1970s (pre-1972) two-piece suit, Italian-made for the Italian market by Fuso d’Oro / Marzotto Confezioni, in a light blue-grey, very fine herringbone weave with subtle rust pinstripes. Looks nearly solid from a distance. Great color for a wedding; recommend a fluffy dark blue or rust silk handkerchief to set it off. Fabric is durable Rhodiatoce wool/Terital, 45% wool / 55% synthetic.
The suit has a slim, distinctly mod silhouette, with lapels less than 2 3/4” at widest point and flat-front trousers tapered to 7” across with no cuff. Fabric-covered buttons have been added everywhere, including a small button and buttonhole on the center vent. That vent button is now missing. A replacement could be made from fabric taken from an internal hem, but I have left the garment unchanged.
Condition is excellent. No noticeable stains, moth holes, visible wear, or fraying to the lining.
Approximate modern size: 38R jacket / 33W x 30L trousers. Please note precise garment measurements below.
