Vintage Tuf-Wear “TUFFY” 16 Oz. Leather Lace-Up Boxing Gloves – c. 1960s
Original matched pair of vintage Tuf-Wear TUFFY boxing gloves, believed to date to approximately the 1960s.
These are full-size 16-ounce red leather lace-up gloves featuring the distinctive oversized TUFFY / TUF-WEAR cuff labels. Both gloves retain their original “16 OZ.” markings.
This is a particularly attractive old-school pair for display. The red leather retains good color and the gloves retain their classic shape, while the large cream-and-black TUFFY labels remain prominently visible on both cuffs.
The gloves show genuine age and previous use throughout, including leather creasing, wrinkles, scuffs, scratches, discoloration and general surface wear. There is wear around the lace/eyelet areas along with areas of loose or exposed stitching/thread. The interior linings show considerable age and wear. Labels have age-related discoloration and edge wear but remain intact and highly readable.
White replacement laces have been installed.
Because of their age and condition, these gloves are being sold as vintage boxing collectibles/display memorabilia and are not represented as safe for current sparring or training use.
