Vintage 1965 business textbook: General Recordkeeping, Fifth Edition, by Heiges, Schneider, Huffman & Stewart — published by the Gregg Division of McGraw-Hill (copyright 1965; Library of Congress Catalog Card No. 63-23388).This was the classic mid-century high school business course: personal recordkeeping (banking, household and club accounts), office employment skills, and the foundations of double-entry bookkeeping and data processing. It's illustrated with wonderful black-and-white photos of 1960s working life — students in a classroom, taxpayers filing returns at an IRS district office, a receiving clerk checking invoices.Provenance note: the original owner's signature, "J. L. Fling," is written in ink on the front cover and again on the front endpaper.Condition: light wear consistent with age — a few small marks on the covers, colors still bright and spine intact; the photographed interior pages are clean. Please see all photos.A great piece of 1960s office and schoolhouse history — perfect for business memorabilia collectors, vintage classroom decor, or collage and ephemera artists.
