Vintage 1986 Solid Brass Zippo Lighter - U.S.S. South Carolina CGN-37
Very nice vintage Zippo lighter featuring the U.S.S. South Carolina CGN-37, a U.S. Navy nuclear-powered guided-missile cruiser.
The lighter has a beautiful solid brass finish with a great vintage golden patina.
The front features a detailed U.S.S. South Carolina CGN-37 ship emblem and illustration of the ship.
The bottom is marked:
1932 ZIPPO 1986BRADFORD, PA.
This is a 1986 Zippo commemorating Zippo's 50th anniversary.
The lighter also has a personal engraving on the lid that appears to read "HOLLY-N-BRAY."
APPROXIMATE LIGHTER SIZE:2 1/4 inches tall x 1 1/2 inches wide
The lighter comes with the presentation box shown in the photos.

The book "Navy Fun" shown in one of the pictures is also NOT included. It is my own book about my experiences in the U.S. Navy and is shown simply as part of the story behind my interest in collecting Navy items.
A LITTLE PERSONAL NOTE:
I was in the U.S. Navy from 1982 to 1990. I spent 4 years on the USS Proteus AS-19 submarine tender, served aboard the USS David R. Ray DD-971 Spruance-class destroyer, and spent a short time aboard the USS Nimitz CVN-68. I also had 4 years of shore duty at NAS Miramar with VAW-110.
I have always enjoyed collecting Navy items, especially items featuring Navy ships, and I enjoy finding these pieces and keeping them until they find a new home.

I have included some old Zippo information in the pictures because I thought it was interesting, but those papers are NOT included with the lighter.
The lighter is being sold as shown in the photographs.
I have not tested the lighter, so I am selling it as untested.
It shows normal signs of age, including scratches, surface wear and patina. Please look carefully at all of the photographs because they show the actual condition.
