Vintage 1st Edition “Leaves Of Laurel” Poetry Book By Maude Rubin + Stamped“Christmas Lily” Card By Author
Good vintage condition; several small areas of peel on outer hardcover, as shown in pictures, but otherwise in good vintage condition. First edition. Published in 1967 by Paul Edward Pross. Printed in the USA. These poems are dedicated to the author’s daughter Betty Reed.
“Maude Rubin was a poet with over 100 published poems and 42 state and national awards to her name. She is author of a book of poems titled ‘Leaves of Laurel’ (1967) and a contributor to ‘Lyrics of Three Women’. Inside this book is what looks like a homemade Christmas card that features one of Maude Rubin‘s poems, “Christmas Lilly”, as well as artwork of said flower. The card includes an envelope with an address label from the poet and her handwriting, describing the name and address of the receiver. It is postmarked 1967, the year the book was published.
