Vintage new old stock JC Penney 1970s-1980s brown suede lug sole red lace heavy duty hiking boots.
These boots are in unworn condition and still have the vintage original JC Penney price sticker on the bottom of the boot, although someone marked over it for resale. There is some cracking around the leather ankle cushion, which seems to be typical for this style of vintage boots. I\'ve conditioned that area of the boot with mink oil. They have had a long, lonely life sitting in someone\'s closet for the past 50 years.
The boots are a women\'s 6.5 and are true to size. I am a 6.5-7 and they fit with room for a good pair of wool socks.
I am a huge fan of the book Wild by Cheryl Strayed (movie with Reece Witherspoon) and these boots are reminiscent of the boots she wore when she hiked the Pacific Crest trail. They ended up being re-created by Danner in later years.
These are a great piece of hiking history. Even if they are never worn again, they would be a beautiful display in a rustic cabin.
