Rare Vintage Cold War Abrams B-52 Bomb Spotting Intervalometer / Camera Controller
Fully Intact Casing with Rare 1959 Lockheed Georgia Depot & Quality Test Stickers!
✈️ ITEM OVERVIEW ✈️
Up for sale is a fascinating piece of premium Cold War aviation history: an Abrams Instrument Corp. Camera Exposure & Intervalometer Controller.
Originally manufactured under U.S. Property contracts for strategic aircraft like the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, this rugged electromechanical device was used by flight crews to precisely control bomb-spotting and aerial reconnaissance photography intervals.
What makes this specific unit an absolute standout for collectors is the exceptionally interesting, original paperwork trail remaining on the outer casing: Lockheed Aircraft Corp. (Georgia Division) Overhaul Sticker – Dated June 8, 1959, stamped at the iconic Marietta Air Force Plant 6 facility. Vintage "NATIONAL? TEST" Inspection Decal – this fragment is a Quality Assurance (QA) Final Test paper inspection seal / validation stamp. In vintage aircraft manufacturing and component overhaul (such as systems produced by major prime contractors like McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, or North American Aviation), these small, round, tamper-evident paper labels were affixed over internal adjustment points, calibrators, or enclosure chassis gaps after an instrument passed its benchmark metrics. Seals presence proving its military service testing history during the height of late-1950s strategic defense operations.
