Beautiful Estate Find: Large vintage Chinese-style hand-worked needlepoint / canvas embroidery featuring two cranes among pine trees, mountains, water and a rising red sun.
The five prominent Chinese characters read:
家和萬事興 — Jiā Hé Wàn Shì Xīng
A traditional Chinese saying meaning approximately:
“When the family lives in harmony, everything prospers.”
The entire design is hand stitched on an open, even-weave needlework canvas using multiple stitch directions and techniques. Close-up photographs of the reverse are included to show the hand-worked construction.
Measurements: Approximately 45” wide × 21” tall.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition. Unframed with unfinished canvas edges. There are wrinkles/creases, minor age-related discoloration and other signs of storage and age. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description.
