Vintage German Barigo aneroid barometer housed in a brushed aluminum desk case, featuring a black dial with traditional German weather indicators: Regen (Rain), Veränderlich (Changeable), and Schön (Fair).
This barometer is intentionally calibrated to the standard European atmospheric pressure range of 70–79 cmHg (centimeters of mercury). This narrower scale is a design feature, not a defect, allowing for higher resolution and more accurate tracking of everyday weather changes. Standard sea-level pressure (76 cmHg) is centered on the dial.
Mechanical movement — no batteries required.
Condition:
• Needle moves freely and responds to pressure changes
• Light cosmetic wear consistent with age
• Clear lens with no cracks
• Clean mid-century modern design
Made in Germany by Barigo, a respected manufacturer of precision weather instruments. Ideal for desk, shelf, or office display, and appealing to collectors of mid-century, scientific, or German design objects.
