Vintage Delta Airlines MD-90 Promo Luggage Tag + Aircraft Cabin Placards 1990s
Original vintage Delta Air Lines promotional luggage/ID tag featuring the McDonnell Douglas MD-90 and the slogan “Our Airplane for the Future.”
I would not describe it as an ordinary later passenger luggage tag. The reverse has the removable/write-in name-and-address insert, so it was certainly intended to function as a luggage/ID tag, but the front is clearly promotional. Given Delta’s launch-customer status and that slogan, it may have been distributed to employees, customers, travel-industry people, or at an MD-90 promotional event.
Delta was the launch customer for the MD-90 and introduced the aircraft into scheduled service in 1995. The design and Delta logo style are consistent with the mid-1990s introduction period. Reverse retains the original write-in name/address insert.
The vintage cabin placard "No Cigarette Disposal" infers that cigarette butts could not be disposed of, probably in a trash receptacle or something similar. That must be from an earlier era because by 1995 Delta had banned smoking on aircraft.The seatbelt and cigarette placards are metal and appear to be never installed/used.
Excellent vintage condition with just minor signs of wear from storage & handling, all appear to be unused as shown in photos.
