Small hand-worked copper dish, approx. 12 cm diameter, with a genuinely old, handmade feel.
The centre features an engraved frond or pine-branch motif, surrounded by a hand-punched dotted inscription and what appears to be a date.
The lettering is partly obscured by age and verdigris. Our best reading is "…RUELADIA" with the numbers "30" and "36", but we'd welcome anyone who can identify it. See photos and judge for yourself.
The rim has chased or embossed scroll decoration and a milled edge. The underside has a raised flat base.
Natural patina throughout, with verdigris in the punched lettering, spotting and age toning. It has not been cleaned or polished. Minor dents consistent with age and hand-working. Please view all photos as they form part of the description.
A lovely piece of folk art or souvenir metalwork, possibly commemorative. Would suit a collector of copper, folk art or curiosities, or work as a ring dish or display piece.
