Each cup is marked on the underside with the red Japanese characters 九谷, identifying the pieces as Kutani ware from Japan.

The cups have a traditional flared choko/sake cup shape with decorative gold-tone bands around the bases and floral decoration around the bodies.
Pre-owned vintage condition. Age-related crazing is visible in the glaze, along with wear, fading and loss to portions of the metallic-gold decoration. Additional normal signs of age, use and storage may be present. No condition beyond what is visible in the photographs is guaranteed.
