When Mattel’s Intellivision helped turn home video games into a phenomenon, Sears wanted a place in the console business too. Its answer was the Super Video Arcade: a Sears-branded version of the Intellivision with its own unmistakable look. For collectors, it captures both the Intellivision era and the time when a Sears catalog could put the latest technology on a family’s wish list.
I have handled vintage electronic games for nearly 50 years, and this is the best-looking Sears Super Video Arcade I have seen. The console’s front is remarkably clean, and the controllers are bright white and beautiful. These systems are often found dusty, damaged, or missing pieces; seeing the console, controllers, paperwork, switchbox, original Poker & Blackjack game, and Sears box together in this condition is something special.
The photos show the details honestly. There are small marks on the console where the cable rested against it during decades of storage, including a visible mark along the dark upper edge. The box is gorgeous and displays beautifully, with some wear, particularly on the ends and edges. Please examine every photo for the exact cosmetic condition and included items.
