Wonderful vintage hand-crafted Mexican folk art pottery sculpture depicting a stylized male figure holding a long-necked bird.
This piece was purchased by my late father sometime between the 1960s and early 1980s. Based on its construction, materials and style, it appears to be a mid-20th-century Mexican folk pottery sculpture, likely dating from approximately the 1950sā1970s.
Research suggests similarities to mid-century Mexican folk pottery from the Guerrero/Puebla region, although I have not identified the individual artist or workshop. It is therefore being offered simply as vintage Mexican folk art rather than attributed to a specific maker.
Condition: Good vintage condition overall with surface wear, pigment loss, discoloration, small abrasions and imperfections consistent with its age and handmade nature. Please review all photographs carefully for condition and details. No restoration has been done.
