Vintage Mollica Capodimonte Encrusted Floral & Bird Trinket Dish. Made in Italy, Milan.
A beautiful vintage Italian porcelain trinketbowl and decorative lid features a beautifully detailed bird finial on the lid, surrounded by intricate,hand-molded, applied 3D porcelain flowers. The floral decorations arecrafted in high relief (encrusted style), showcasing the delicate,lifelike petals.
After the family studio relocated from Naples to Milanduring the 1940s, pieces were frequently marked with "CeramicheMollica" or a flowing script reading just "Mollica" alongsidethe traditional Capodimonte crowned "N".
It looks like the flowers and leaves are in good condition. I have a close-up on the bowl, and it shows a few areas of folded ceramic made while it was baked in the ovens. Please view all the photos.
