Nintendo absolutely dominated video gaming throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Before the NES took over America’s living rooms, Nintendo’s revolutionary Game & Watch handhelds—including Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr. and Oil Panic—put electronic games directly into children’s hands. Nintendo then conquered home gaming with the NES, Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. Behind that incredible success, employees were occasionally presented with special pins celebrating new products, company milestones and important launches. These were never ordinary retail merchandise—this is one of those remarkable pieces of Nintendo history.

Nintendo launched the GameCube in North America on November 18, 2001, introducing its first home console to use optical discs instead of cartridges. The system gave us an unforgettable library that included Luigi’s Mansion, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Today, the GameCube has become one of Nintendo’s most beloved and heavily collected systems.
