OVERVIEW
The Orvis 100 series are Italian-made spinning reels from the era when Orvis badged quality European manufacture, and they hold up well. This is the 100S body and it comes with two spools, both moulded ORVIS 100A — one fitted to the reel and one spare. Most of these turn up as a bare reel with no spare at all. It was working when it came to me and I have video of it running, but I opened it up to clean it and then could not rewind the spring. Not currently functional. Bail return spring holds tension but will not seat. Bail arm screw missing, so the bail sleeve is not retained. Body, handle, rotor, drag and both spools present. Nothing broken, seized or worn. Cosmetic wear consistent with age. Video included shows the reel running prior to disassembly for cleaning — it does not show current condition.

What it needs: The bail return spring reseated.
If you want a reel ready to fish, look for a tested working Orvis 100 instead — they turn up regularly at $30-45 bare, or $60-110 with a spare spool. This one is priced well below that because it needs bench time first.
