Vintage RCA Victor 1YB-11 Snap-Load Tape Cartridge Recorder Bundle w/ Case Mic
Rare vintage RCA Victor Tape Cartridge Recorder/Player Model 1YB11 from around 1959-1960. Includes the original matching hard case, microphone, and accessories.
Cosmetic Condition:
Excellent vintage cosmetic condition. The geometric faceplate chrome and lettering are clean; the gold-accented knobs turn smoothly. The original matching hard-shell carrying case is structurally sound and includes the inner storage trays.
The original cables and power cords are physically intact. As is typical for electronics of this era, the rubber/plastic insulation on the cables has become a little stiff over time.
Mechanical Condition & Testing:
- Power: Unit powers on and a noticeable hum can be heard from the speaker.
- Power Cord: The original power cord has been previously repaired/spliced (see photos) but functions.
- Belts & Motors: The internal drive belt was recently replaced with a brand-new one. The motors are responsive but currently run intermittently. It may require further voltage cycling or internal contact cleaning to achieve full consistent speed.
- Audio Playback: UNTESTED. I do not have a compatible vintage RCA tape cartridge to test for audio playback or recording functionality.
Because it cannot be fully tested, it is being sold strictly AS-IS for restoration, parts, or display.
