This is a true vintage varsity letter sweater by RecKnit, made by Recknagel and Sons Co. of Springvale, Maine. Recknagel was a New England knitting mill known for heavy, well-made school and letterman sweaters. This one is thick 100% wool with a bold purple collegiate "A" knit right into the front. It isn't a patch or print, so it's a lasting, authentic piece of American sportswear history.
The letter is intarsia knit into the sweater, not sewn on or printed
