Brass Nautical Porthole Clock on Wood Wall Plaque
Beautiful vintage Schatz MIDI-MARINER nautical ship’s bell clock by Aug. Schatz & Söhne (Schatz), made in West Germany. This is a quality mechanical marine clock featuring an 8-day, 7-jewel key-wind movement, traditional ship’s bell striking mechanism, brass case, glass front, and a rounded-corner wooden wall mounting plaque.
The clock features the less commonly seen Arabic numeral dial design with black numerals on a cream/white face. The dial is marked:

• Vintage nautical ship’s clock design
• 8-day key-wind mechanical movement
• 7-jewel movement
• Two winding points: one for the time movement and one for the strike mechanism
• Traditional maritime ship’s bell strike mechanism
• Functional ship’s bell strike (tested and chiming every half hour)
• ON/OFF strike control switch
• S/F (Slow/Fast) rate adjustment for time regulation
• Solid brass porthole-style case
• Glass front cover
• Mounted on a rounded-corner wooden wall display plaque
• Bottom sound openings designed for the bell mechanism
• Clock face diameter: approximately 5.5 inches
• Wooden plaque: approximately 10 inches wide x 8 3/8 inches tall
The ship’s bell strike mechanism has been tested and is functioning. The clock chimes every half hour in the traditional maritime ship’s bell pattern.
The clock is currently running slightly slow and may require further regulation using the S/F adjustment or professional servicing for optimal accuracy.

The original Schatz winding key is NOT included. A compatible clock key was used temporarily for testing purposes. The clock has two winding points, one for the time movement and one for the strike mechanism, as designed.
Cosmetic condition is consistent with age. The brass case, glass, dial, and wooden plaque are intact and display very well. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
