This genuine turquoise ring is a substantial \"cluster\" or \"petit point\" - style ring featuring 25 small, round turquoise cabochons tightly grouped in a square or slightly domed top. The stones are set in individual serrated or bezel settings on a dark, oxidized sterling silver base with visible hand-stamping or texturing around the edges. This dense, all over turquoise look is classic for mid-20th century Native American jewelry from the American Southwest. The inside of the ring is stamped with a Native American silversmith\'s mark, \"ELC\".
We know this piece was purchased in the late 1950s to early 1960s in Mohave County, AZ. The silver has a nice aged patina with some oxidation and wear consistent with use. The style shows beautiful hand craftmanship rather than modern mass production.
