Vintage TEAC V-95RX Auto-Reverse Stereo Cassette Deck
Offered here is a vintage TEAC V-95RX auto-reverse stereo cassette deck, made in Japan during the early 1980s. This example is in very good overall cosmetic condition and has been tested and is fully functional.
About the TEAC V-95RX
The V-95RX was one of TEAC\'s feature-rich consumer cassette decks of the early 1980s. It combines offerirectional recording and playback with automatic reverse, Dolby B and dbx noise reduction, support for Normal, CrO2 and Metal tapes, electronic transport controls, program-search functions and a motorized recording-level fader.
Contemporary literature listed the V-95RX at approximately $625 when new. TEAC also offered the RC-95 wired remote control as an optional accessory.
One of the more unusual features of this model is its fast auto-reverse system. The transport uses tape/leader sensing to change direction near the end of a side, allowing playback or recording to continue in the opposite direction with minimal interruption.
Testing & Functionality
This cassette deck has been tested and is fully functional. Playback, recording and transport operation were tested and the deck is operating properly. Controls, displays and illuminated indicators are functioning as expected.

Head Configuration
Some reference material describes the V-95RX as a three-head deck because the offerirectional mechanism uses a combination record/playback head along with separate erase heads for the two tape directions. It should not be confused with a conventional three-head monitoring deck having completely separate record and playback heads.
Condition
The unit is in very good overall cosmetic condition for its age. The brushed-metal face, controls, cassette compartment and display present well, with only light age-related cosmetic wear visible.
