This is an authentic, original vintage late 1960s or early 1970s Bobby Lee \"No-Mishap\" 1.5-inch wide guitar strap. This highly collectible piece of music history was proudly manufactured in Patton, Pennsylvania by the famous Sottile Mfg. Co.
This strap features a vibrant, iconic hootenanny-style geometric jacquard woven pattern. The design features a brilliant red, orange, and yellow medallion motif cleanly framed by a striking teal blue stitched border. Designed specifically with player safety in mind, it utilizes the famous Bobby Lee \"No-Mishap / No-Scratch\" leather and vinyl sleeve dynamic. This design is engineered to keep the metal adjustment buckle completely isolated away from your instrument, eliminating the risk of accidental scratches or finish gouges.
The brown leather tab is clearly stamped with the classic cursive \"Bobby Lee\" logo alongside its two historical patent registrations:
• U.S. Pat. No. 2,643,039: Originally granted to founder Bobby Lee Sottile in 1953 for original non-slip guitar strap dynamics.
• U.S. Pat. No. 3,323,698: Granted to Samuel Robert Sottile in 1967, protecting the updated \"No-Mishap\" safety attachment layout.
CONDITION:
Very good vintage condition! The jacquard weave is exceptionally bright, retaining excellent color saturation with no significant pulling, thinning, or fraying. The leather attachment tabs and vinyl protective sleeves remain entirely sturdy, holding their shape securely with only minor surface marks and natural age patina consistent with gentle use. One metal clasp is showing minor rust as shown in photos.
This is an incredible vintage piece to complete a period-correct setup for a classic Fender, Gibson, Martin, Guild, or Rickenbacker guitar.
