Vintage Chinese hand-carved cork landscape diorama, believed to date to the mid-20th century.Beautiful three-dimensional Asian landscape featuring a traditional arched bridge, pavilion/temple, pagoda, sailboat, trees, birds, mountains and water. The extremely delicate architectural and landscape elements are constructed from thin carved cork and other natural materials.Presented behind glass with a blue fabric-textured inner surround and gold-tone wood frame.Approximate framed dimensions: 11” x 8.5–9”.Remnants of an old paper label remain on the reverse and appear to indicate China.Good vintage condition overall. There is age-related wear and finish loss to the frame and deterioration/tearing to the original paper backing. The delicate interior carving appears remarkably well preserved for its age.
