Beautiful vintage framed color lithograph depicting Church Street in Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England, a picturesque historic English village near Banbury.
The reverse of the artwork is handwritten “Wroxton – Oxfordshire” and “Church Street,” providing an especially interesting piece of provenance identifying the scene.
The artwork is signed “A. Marc” in the lower right. A. Marc is the pseudonym associated with Nicolas Markovitch (1894–1964), a Serbian-French artist, architect and watercolorist known for European architectural and village scenes.
The scene features charming thatched cottages, mature trees, traditional English architecture and the village church tower in the distance.
The print remains in its original vintage wood frame, with attractive age-related patina.
Vintage/antique condition. The frame shows age-related wear, patina and surface imperfections. The backing paper is aged and has some tears/wear. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are part of the description.
A lovely piece for an English country, cottagecore, traditional, European, Nancy Meyers or collected vintage interior.
